¿Puede el pelo volverse blanco a causa del miedo?

Durante siglos en mitos, leyendas y películas de todo el mundo, se ha creído que al experimentar un miedo muy intenso, el pelo se volvía blanco pero, ¿es cierto?

Pues no, es médicamente imposible que el pelo se vuelva blanco de repente o de un día para otro. Una vez que el pelo crece fuera de la cabeza, no puede ser influenciado por ninguna causa psicológica o fisiológica.

Lo único que podría ocurrir es que después de varias semanas del suceso, sí que podríamos ver la raíz del pelo blanca.

PS3 vs XBOX 360: gráficos

He encontrado unos vídeos en los que comparan los gráficos de la PS3 con los de XBOX 360. La única diferencia que encuentro es que en determinados juegos la saturación del color es menor en la PS3. ¿Alguien nota alguna diferencia significativa?

El LHC está en marcha

Hoy ha sido el día en el que el LHC (Large Hadron Collider, Gran Colisionador de Hadrones), ha sido puesto en funcionamiento y seguimos vivos. Recordemos que el LHC es el acelerador de partículas más potente del mundo. 

Los investigadores han logrado con éxito que un haz de mil millones de protones diera una vuelta completa al túnel de 27 kilómetros en ocho etapas con una duración de poco más de 50 minutos. Su velocidad ha sido mucho menor a la que alcanzará cuando funcione a nivel óptimo que será de mil millones de protones cada mil millonésimas de segundo.

Los primeros choques de protones no se producirán hasta dentro de al menos unos meses, que será cuando se obtengan los primeros datos.

En resumen, las pruebas de funcionamiento de hoy han sido todo un éxito y los primeros datos se obtendrán en, al menos, unos meses.

Os presento un vídeo que han grabado los mismos empleados del CERN, donde explican con un rap el funcionamiento y objetivos del proyecto. El vídeo está en inglés con subtítulos, lo mismo me animo y lo traduzco a español.

¿Cómo están los ánimos en el mundo?

Hace más o menos un año descubrí, a través de un widget para Mac, una web llamada Moody or Not que se dedica a medir el estado de ánimo del mundo. Para ello tienes que votar con tu estado de ánimo actual, puedes elegir entre cuatro opciones: "Very bad" (muy mal), "Not ok" (no bien), "I'd say well" (diría que bien) y "Very well" (muy bien). 

Algunos datos curiosos que ponen en la web son que el estado de ánimo está entre el 60% y 70%, también dicen que el mundo siempre está peor los lunes y mejor los fines de semana, aunque estos dos últimos datos ya lo sabíamos sin tener que recurrir a este tipo de estudios, resulta interesante ver como cambian los ánimos de las personas.

Este gráfico corresponde a los últimos siete días y podemos apreciar que, aunque lunes el mundo está bajo de ánimos, es martes cuando está más bajo y se deduce que es a causa del fin de las vacaciones, mientras que parece que viernes será siempre cuando estemos de mejor ánimo.
